IOWEYOU

A Visionary in Ethical Fashion and Heritage Textiles

Designer and heritage textile advocate Kavita Parmar is a global changemaker and champion of ethical fashion who empowers and employs nearly 200 individuals — mostly women — and equips them with sustainable growth tools. Born on an Indian Air Force base and living in Southeast Asia, the Americas, and Europe, Kavita’s nomadic upbringing has shaped her worldview. She now calls Madrid, Spain, home, but asserts her true home as “Planet Earth.” This global mindset and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity fuel her passion for preserving artisan traditions.

IOWEYOU was born from Kavita’s deep frustration with the fashion industry she loves, which she saw as increasingly compromised by mass production and the relentless pursuit of growth. She notes that even luxury brands were discarding products at the speed of fast fashion, sacrificing quality and craftsmanship for quantity. Traditional skills were being lost, and supply chains had become so complex that brands often had little understanding of how their garments were made.

Kavita’s pioneering efforts have also played a key role in preserving unique textiles. Her commitment to ethical fashion and regenerative supply chains has garnered international recognition, including awards from the United Nations SSC Leadership Program, the Luxury Briefing Award for Innovation of the Year in London, and the Sustainable Luxury Award in Latin America. Walking the walk, each IOWEYOU piece features a QR code tracking the entire supply chain, honoring the artisans behind the work, and fostering an emotional connection between the creator and the consumer.
