The International Folk Art Market invites you to a three-day holiday event featuring embroidery workshops and a pop-up sale with Hilos y Colores, a renowned artisan collective from the highlands of Ayacucho, Peru. With deep roots in their culture, Hilos y Colores supports over 800 women weavers and helps uplift their communities through the art of weaving and embroidery. You’ll create a unique holiday gift and learn the rich stories behind these time-honored traditions.

About the Workshop
In this unique 3-4 hour workshop, Hilos y Colores will guide participants through traditional embroidery techniques to create their own coasters. Whether following a pre-designed pattern or exploring your own creativity, you’ll take home two beautiful hand-embroidered pieces made from natural Peruvian wool.
You’ll also hear personal stories from the mother-daughter duo leading the class during the workshop. With over 800 weavers in their collective, the sales from their work have significantly impacted their local communities by combating hunger and supporting sustainable livelihoods.
