Folk Art Connections Presents: Threads of Revival Embroidering & Upcycling Textile Waste with Ashita Singhal

  • International Folk Art Market 620 Cerrillos Road Santa Fe, NM, 87505 United States (map)

The Threads of Revival embroidery workshop led by Paiwand founder Ashita Singhal of India focuses on interpreting traditional ideas of embroidery in a terrain of sustainability and upcycling. The workshop aims to familiarize you with techniques that will help you revive your most loved but worn apparel pieces. From an introduction to basic stitches, to a complete guide on how to develop motifs, threading your needle with textile scrap and application based upcycling - this workshop will equip you enough to launch into upcycling as a social, environmental, and fashion practice. Guided by Ashita, you will learn how to turn scraps into beautiful stitches!
