We heard you, wholesale buyers!  IFAM understands that the Market is often too busy to properly discuss and place wholesale orders. The new IFAM Wholesale Market, featuring select artists from IFAM 2020, is an opportunity for the artists to work directly with buyers outside of the retail market to discuss, take orders and customize products for future sales. These are some of the best artists working in handmade folk art traditions, from their respective countries, and are keeping that particular traditional handicraft alive.

IFAM Wholesale Trade Show is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Lumpkin’s Ballroom at the historic La Fonda Hotel on the Plaza. It will offer qualified wholesale buyers a time and place to conduct wholesale business in advance of the retail market weekend. IFAM will confirm the business credentials of all wholesale buyers who wish to attend. It’s important to note that the Trade Show is for future orders only. Cash-and-carry purchasing will not be allowed, and like all attendees, wholesalers will have the opportunity to purchase as many items as they wish at the Market.

The IFAM Wholesale Market has its own set of guideline and priorities:

The event will be held on Wednesday, July 8th, from 10-4, in the Lumpkins’ Ball Room of the historic La Fonda Hotel on the Santa Fe Plaza.

To maintain the integrity of the IFAM Wholesale Market, onsite sales and delivery of any products is strictly forbidden.  No cash and carry will be allowed, all orders must be shipped.

All participants in the IFAM Wholesale Trade Show are required to register. Only qualified buyers will be permitted entry with a badge, which will be available at the door. All participants will need to submit the following materials in order to complete registration.

Please submit two forms of ID from this list no later than July 3, 2020.

A) A website for their business which can be verified.
B) A business card with the buyers’ name and business address.
C) Tax-free certificate or business license.
D) Two recent invoices (from the last 6 months) from an industry manufacturer for a minimum amount of $1000.

If you are preregistering  for more  than one buyer we will need the following information for EACH badge issued:

  • Name of buyer
  • Name of store
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • The physical address of store or business

Please note that to keep the integrity of this wholesale event we will only allow qualified buyers entry. Please bring 2 forms of appropriate credentials to the event, or email them to wholesale@folkartmarket.org for pre-registration.

List of approved credentials:

  1. Business card with store name, address, and buyers name.
  2. Business license
  3. Check with company name
  4.  Invoice, not older than 6 months, from industry business totally at least $1000, with buyers name and store listed.

La Fonda on the Plaza is pleased to offer a special room rate of $239.00 plus tax for a Traditional Room for the nights of July 6, 7, 8 & 9, $399.00 for the dates of July 9, 10 & 11 and $299.00 for July 12, 2020.

Pre/Post dates are based on availability

Individual reservation requests will be confirmed only if guaranteed with a valid credit card or deposit by check or money order.

La Fonda on the Plaza accepts the following credit cards: American Express/Optima, Diners Club, Discover Card, MasterCard, or Visa

La Fonda on the Plaza does not charge an advance deposit, though they do charge one night’s room and tax should an individual cancel within 48 hours of their arrival.  This will be stated on the confirmation, which will be sent to you once you make your reservation.
