Early-Bird Session & General IFAM Sessions

Get ahead of the crowds and catch a glimpse of stunning artwork before the rush begins during our exclusive Early Bird Shopping session! This marks the inaugural public event where guests can experience the captivating artwork on exhibit at Market for the very first time. Visitors to the International Folk Art Market General Sessions can enjoy food, music, and handmade art from all over the world. Tickets will be purchased for a firm timed-entry session (every hour) that will last 2 hours.

  • Get ready to experience the Market magic, we’re thrilled to welcome you to the City Different (Santa Fe, New Mexico). We’re making it easy for New Mexico residents living in Los Lunas, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Corrales, and Bernalillo to visit IFAM. We’ve teamed up with the New Mexico Rail Runner Express commuter rail to offer you the official IFAM Add-On option to your entry-ticket purchase! Simply show your receipt at the nearest Rail Runner station and experience the gorgeous views of New Mexico like you’ve never seen before.

The best part? You arrive steps away from Railyard Park at the Santa Fe Depot, inside the Railyard District. You can also choose to disembark at the South Capitol station and catch a shuttle to the Market. The Rail Runner Express will also add more rides on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of IFAM 2024 week!

Thank you Rio Metro Regional Transit for your support and partnership to make this one of the easiest ways to get to the Market.

    Ride Your Bike:

Our venue at Railyard Park is located right next to the Santa Fe Rail Trail, this is an extensive 15-mile trail that ends right at the Santa Fe Depot Station. Once you get to Market, you can check your bike in at our FREE Volunteer-run Bike Valet. The Bike Valet will be stationed on Paseo de Peralta near the former Warehouse 21 building. Explore the Rail Trail Map here: https://santafempo.org/resources/bikeways-map/

    Shuttles:

There are two shuttles that will be operating to Market.

Santa Fe Regional Transit Division Shuttles will be running to and from Market from South Capitol Rail Runner Station (1301 Alta Vista St, Santa Fe, NM 87502). These are ADA shuttles. Seven shuttles will be running overall, four are ADA. These are free to use. ROUTES BEGIN ONE HOUR BEFORE THE MARKET AND END ONE HOUR AFTER.

A shuttle will run from the Santa Fe Place Mall on the Food Court side, at the bus station already in existence, and drop off in front of Market throughout the duration of Market. ROUTES BEGIN ONE HOUR BEFORE THE MARKET AND END ONE HOUR AFTER. For more information and schedules please call 505-955-2001.

    Rideshare Services:

If you choose to utilize rideshare services like (Lyft, Uber, etc.) or a hotel shuttle, you will be dropped off at our designated rideshare location at 1625 Paseo de Peralta (formerly Alvord Elementary).

    Parking:

The Railyard area offers numerous metered street parking spaces and municipal and private lots. We’ve identified over 600 parking spaces nearby, including those available in the Railyard Municipal Garage.

New Mexico State has graciously provided their State Capitol Parking Facility to IFAM visitors on Saturday and Sunday AND extended the closing time of the garage until 10:30 pm Thursday - Sunday.

    State Capitol Parking Facility:

485 Galisteo St. Santa Fe, NM 87501

    ADA Parking:

ADA Parking is available at the southeast corner of S. Guadalupe St. and Paseo de Peralta. Please look for IFAM/ADA signage. This lot is first come, first served. There are of course a number of ADA-reserved parking spaces near the Railyard Park.

NOTE: City parking rates vary. IFAM does not validate parking. When parking in private lots, please look for parking attendants.

    Walking:

Railyard Park is incredibly accessible if you are staying in the downtown area. If you need a location to plug into your map app use 740 Cerrillos Rd. Santa Fe, NM 87505

    Respecting the Community:

Please adhere to City rules and respect the surrounding neighborhoods. Do not park where there are “no parking” signs or where residential permits are required. You may be towed at your own expense.

    Road Closures:

During Market hours, Paseo de Peralta will be closed between the intersections of S. Guadalupe St. and Camino de la Familia.

As an organization prioritizing sustainability, we are excited about the many opportunities to travel “lightly” to Market this year. Utilizing the Santa Fe Trails bus system, the Rail Runner train, the Santa Fe Rail Trail, IFAM’s Bike Valet, metered street parking, and a number of municipal lots, you have the opportunity to pick the easiest way for you to arrive at Market. However, if you choose to drive, you should plan some extra time to find parking.

  • IFAM’s Santa Fe Market venue, the 11-acre Railyard Park, is unique among urban greenspaces. Developed after hundreds of hours of public input, it is meant to be a model of environmental sustainability, community engagement and cultural enrichment. It is also one of the few public parks governed by a conservation easement, guaranteeing the area will remain an open gathering space in perpetuity.

As the Park’s official caretakers, the Railyard Park Conservancy (RPC) is committed to upholding the original community vision which created it, and the conservation easement which sustains it. In addition to overseeing all educational programming and public art in the Park, the RPC mobilizes more than 2,500 community volunteer hours annually to provide enhanced horticultural care of its diverse, drought-tolerant landscaping. The RPC also spearheads ongoing conservation efforts like a Healthy Soils Campaign and the Graze Days grassland restoration project to ensure the Park continues to thrive in the face of ongoing drought and climate change.

PATHWAYS PROTECT! In order to protect and support the Park’s sensitive ecosystem, the RPC requests that all market visitors stay on designated paths. Remember, if you’re not on path, you’re probably on a plant or an active restoration area. For more information, please stop by the RPC’s table at the market, or visit www.railyardpark.org.

ETERNAL PRESENT

The 2024 IFAM Speaker Series
Twenty Years of Folk Art Excellence

In celebration of the twentieth edition of the International Folk Art Market, the annual speakers series takes its cue from the broad Indigenous worldview that time is cyclical and circular. In this context, a non-linear approach will be used to simultaneously discuss the past, present and future of folk art. For many global cultures, time is embedded within the fabric of society, in sync with nature, communities, traditions and identities. The invited presenters and panelists will therefore address themes that span place and generations, sharing universal stories that are handmade and eternally present.

Program curated and moderated by Philip Fimmano

Further details will be announced and will be available here.
