Meet Zalkar, jewelry artist from Kyzyl Sarai in the Osh region of southern Kyrgyzstan. His work is inspired by the jewelry worn by his grandmothers, and he uses motifs of nature that his ancestors have used for many decades. As a member of the Union of Designers of Kyrgyzstan, Zalkar actively participates in fashion shows, showcasing his unique jewelry designs alongside his fondness for fashion. Despite facing limited in resources, Zalkar's dedication to his craft shines through in every meticulously crafted piece. He dreams of establishing his own workshop equipped with technical equipment and hopes to one day teach and mentor young aspiring artisans through his own school of apprenticeship.
